6 Month update, pics included!!!
So today is my 6 month surgiversary and I am down 108 pounds, 107 to go till goal. My goal is 150 but my nut thinks 170 would be better cause I am tall and larger frame, we'll see where my body wants to go. All in all it's good. I'm hating my upper arms the most right now along with my thinning hair which is driving me crazy lol. I don't know if your hormones go out of whack with weight loss I'm assuming so but my emotions are all over the board. Been depressed lately and just not happy. I feel like I am stuck in a funk that I can't escape from. My monthly friend is so much heavier now than before, anyone else experience this??? I have been kinda stuck around the same weight the last month so that has been frustrating and maybe one factor in my down in the dumps mood. Ok here are 2 pics to compare. So I can wear size 24 pants (havent tried anything smaller yet lol) down from size 32 and shirts are xl-xxl down from 4x-5x. The outfits are similar but obviouly not the same since I way 108 pounds less in second pic lol.

Congratulations!! You are definitely a "sleeve-rockin chick!!" What a difference! and in answer to your question, YES, the monthly cycle is heavier and I'm anemic and can't afford to lose more blood!! Argh. But, I do understand what you're saying!! Take a good lock at your pictures and SEE the difference (and I think maybe you should try smaller pants too!)...hopefully you can get out of the little "funk" and get excited at how far you've come!!
You look fantastic - way to go!
My periods got really heavy after surgery too, and I eventually went with the Mirena IUD. a few month of random spotting, and now I have just a day or two of very light spotting every month - I love it!
Hang in there - the stalls will come and go with somewhat greater frequency after the first 6 months or so, but the weight and inches will continue to come off. You`ve done just beautifully and you are just beginning - congratulations!

You're doing so well, and you have definitely changed for the better! I think the six-month point is hard, lots of adjusting if we've lost a lot, reassessing life, figuring out way in the world as smaller people. It is easy to stall and easy to get depressed. Even though people think losing weight should be this big mood elevator, I think it is incredibly stressful and disconcerting. I think it's not uncommon to have some down times going through this process. That doesn't mean you're not on the right track!!
You might want to check in with your doctor or a therapist if the funk doesn't lift. I have benefited so much from therapy and from anti-depressants. Sometimes we stay unhappy for too long waiting for the mood to lift, and it can be a vicious cycle. Good luck!
