Ruggie T-shirt #13. Atari from ThinkGeek

Hi guys!

Ok, THIS SHIRT IS WAY TOO BIG.  It fits all weird.  You know those low-quality T-shirts you sometimes get, and you wash them, and the shirt somehow grows in width but shrinks in height? Yeah, this shirt, totally.  I didn't want to wear it, but darn it, it was one of my "wear it when I'm thin" T-shirts so it got worn!  weared!  whatever!!!!

Distressed ATARI logo T-shirt from ThinkGeek - again, ordered in 2009, they don't sell it anymore or have it in inventory so I can't link you.

*sigh*  Getting old can suck.  I mentor quite a few of 20-somethings, and today I was asked "What is Atari?"  HOW CAN YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ATARI?!?!

No, I'm not such an arrogant nerd I expect you to know all these awesome gaming companies like Black Isle and BioWare and such, but ATARI was one of the first!!!

Ohhh... my Atari 2600 video game console... and then my Atari 400 Personal Computer (before we called them PCs!)  And then the Atari 800 with "fancy" push-button keyboard!  *wistful sigh*.

Damn this shirt is too big.

I understand how you feel.   My 19 year old nephew was faced with a rotary dial telephone and didn't know what to do with it and I had to explain to my 8 year old niece that I didn't have an Ipod when I was 8 because they weren't invented yet.  She asked me if it was boring when I was a kid.  I remember when pong was a new cool thing!  I think all of your cool t's would make a great quilt.  Contact your local quilting store, they may be able to hook you up with someone who could do it for you.  Some of the favorite old clothes are hard to give up!

Yes, you're all bullying me into making a quilt, so I'll have one made even though it seems too pricey!  I'll post a pic of it as well ;)

I would bet you a new game that you could find an OHer  who would do it for you for just a small price.  I bet I could even do it.  I'll think about how to do it.  Hard to snack and sew at the same time!

Pong anyone?!
That was my first video game ever. I love it, too. Had to go the rich neighbor's house to play it. LOL!
I guess that means I'm old, too. DAMN!
