It's a matter of perspective and how we carry weight.  I get "tiny" and 'too thin" fairly frequently because I"m pretty lean on top, not so much on the bottom still but Its not all that noticiable. I have evened out a lot, but not 100%  and I may never. So, while I see my thighs others see the collar bones and bones in my wrists. Having said that, I think we as a society are not all that used to 'lean' any more.  With 2/3 of the population being overweight or obese, I think the persepctive is fairly skewed.  I'm also small -- 5'3", which means that as I've gone into smaller sizes it's more apparent how 'petite' I really am since things fit through the shoulders, back, etc, much better.

Having said that, I have pointed out to my mother, on more than one occasion, when she has expressed concern I'm getting too small that  I"m 10lbs heavier than I was  when she sent me to weigh****chers when I was a freshman in high shcool because she felt I was too heavy  at 120lbs and 5'3".  I was the biggest girl in my class.  I remind her that  we struggled to find clothes  when I was a 1980's size 12-14 (about a 6-8 now) during most of high school when I was playing 2 sports.  I'm a 4 now, and just barely smaller than I was in high school mostly because I"m not carrying as much muscle at 44 as I did at 16.  I also point out that I am still heavier than she is or ever was, and until she shrunk she was a good 2 inches taller than I am.  We also carry our weight differently, and while she has boobs and a belly, she has tiny little stick legs and no butt.

I told my surgeon 3 weeks ago I wanted to get to a BMI of 19.9 (I am now 22.1) and he said "Go for it." Your weight loss is just between you and your surgeon. I just smile politely when I get those comments, then go right back to rockin my sleeve!

I dont think your goal weight seems too much.
People are so use to seeing you chunky, that they cant help but say something!
