So I guess I should introduce myself...

I've been merrily blabbing away, but I've only introduced myself at my local board and the over 50 BMI board...

So...I'm hoping to have a VSG.  Got a referral from my GP to a bariatric surgeon, but haven't gotten that first appointment yet.  Could be a while before I get the surgery, but having already had some of the tests, maybe I'll jump ahead in the queue a bit.

About me...Canadian, fortyish, female, married, leftish, atheist, feminist, science-lover, Doctor Who-geek, accountant, cross-stitcher of naughty sayings and singer in a Jewish folk group, with rheumatoid arthritis and a wee touch of osteo. Really high BMI, but fortunately, none of the usual comorbidities like high BP or diabetes, probably because I've never really dieted and done that whole yo-yo thing.

I'm on the west coast, basically Vancouver. No kids, no pets, no fussy houseplants.

Really glad this whole site exists - so much to learn!

Welcome!  You'll see I was on here reading and asking questions for over a year and a half before I had surgery.  You really will get an education!
