I read this and almost fell out laughing. I am the same way about stereo equipment and watches but add wireless "stuff" to it as well. Stereowise, I just got a new convertible and I think I've spent more importing specific stereo gear than I'll ever recoup. A side from that, I've got Bang and Olifson, Nakamichi, Etc equipment sitting around "just because". But my pride and joy is my watch collection. You know you're obsessed when you plan a trip a year to the Grand Caymans JUST TO BUY WATCHES!!!
As for the wireless thing, I buy cellphones like theyre candy and I probably have three iPads but I give them to my nieces and nephews when I get the feel for them. Although. I did just preorder the latest yesterday. I never realized it could be overcompensating. I always though of it as obsessive shopping. But it is. At one time, I had four Harley's and two boats. Like WHO needs that much stuff?
I gave up riding when my friend died in an accident and pretty much gave my bikes away. When I'm done with something, I'm done. I don't care about recouping value, just want to move on. This is very very insightful. Now I know why I'm moving. I'm done and just want to move on.

NCGRL and Frisco:
You will drool over this----
A few years ago I took my Dad to Switzerland (his life long dream--too bad the Alzheimer's has taken the memory away) and spent 9 days doing whatever he wanted.
When we were in Geneva, we spent the whole time looking a****ches. We went to the Rolex showroom and the TagHeuer main show room. Did we see historical Genevea? No. Did we spend time on Lake Geneva? No. Watches. That about all we saw in Geneva. Store to store to store.

...though she be but little, she is FIERCE...
A Midsummer Night's Dream
Yah, that is a drool.....I have 4 Rollers and a few Heuers and Tags
Well...to get it back to Ruggie and his question......
If I Psycho analyze myself......I think I Overcompensated allot in some areas because I was fat....I couldn't wear nice clothes.... So I figured just as long as I wore a good watch and good shoes....that was my look !!!!! And driving something Cool made up for being a slob..... All image you know !!!!!
