i'm totally freaking out and feeling like absolute CRAP.  i went to see my NUT today and when she weighed me i was 162.  sat i was 159 and sun i was 160.4.  i just need to get down to 160 to have reached a big goal -- minus 100 lbs.

it just made me want to cry (which i did in my car).  i feel devastated.  my FNP at the surgery center warned me and was great when i talked to him today, but, god, i feel awful.  tracking like a hawk for the next 2 weeks at least to see what i'm doing wrong.  part of my problem is slider foods, which are all my fault. ugh.

hugs please!!!

:big hug: here you go! You deserve it! Our bodies weight fluctuates with water retention, so maybe keep track of your sodium the next few days? I'm sure you will figure it out and make your 100 lbs lost soon! Good luck!

Regina.  Ready to live again.

Are all of these weigh-ins on the same scale at the same time of day?  If not, then you are riding an emotional roller coaster for nothing. My doctor's scale has never matched my home scale. I don't care about the doctor or anyone else's scale. I have one official scale- period.

I'm not going to bother to analyze what you are doing wrong when I don't know that you are doing anything wrong- other than stressing yourself out.  What if it is water?  I think you need to wait until saturday or sunday and see what it is on the same scale that you weighed on last saturday or sunday.

I have never gained.  But then again, what if I did over a day or two and don't know it because I didn't weigh myself that often? No stress for me that's what.

Give yourself a break. Keep up the good work and make adjustments that you know need to be made.  Just what if you didn't mess up?

 Ann,

I'm sorry you're so upset.  It may very well just be water weight.  ALso, as someone else mentioned, different scales produce different readings.  I never go by my doctor's scale.  I weigh myself on my scale at home, first thing in the morning, with no clothes on and that's the number I believe to be real.

I don't want to minimize your feelings, because I know how important those darn scale numbers are!  But try and remember that it's *just* a number.  You've come so far, and you will go even further.  Be kind and gentle with yourself.  Remember that you aren't what you weigh, you are a wonderful human being.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

I would go by the scale that you weigh yourself on EVERYDAY versus the clinic's scale. For one thing, scales vary, your weight varies by clothing, water, waste, time of day, etc. Has your weight changed from your own scale? If so, then track everything, but 2 lbs is a normal fluctuation. I usually don't weigh the same everyday. Sodium can cause an overnight increase of anywhere from 1-3 lbs for me.

You have come too far to breakdown now.

I am always heavier at the doctors office. My official weight is naked at home, after cleaning out the system! it's jus****er and perhaps time to release some toxins.

Try not to be too upset...it's probably the NUTs scale that is different. I only go by the weight on my scale...it's always 2-3 more at my various doctor's offices. Just get back on track now, with the next meal. And keep your fluids up.
