At 5'3" and 351 I didn't need a second seat.  I think it depends on if you are able to put the arm rests down or not and how full the flight is.  I did ask for a seatbelt extender.

I didn't have that problem so I don't have experience.  Why not just book yourself 2 seats and be comfortable?  Is that an option financially?  Do they charge full price for it?
I think the whole SWA thing is if they are full or overbooked, they're gonna get their money out of you.  Because if they don't charge you for 2 seats, then they can sell that seat next to you to someone else, but if it's too tight, they can't cram anyone in there so that's why they charge you.  If the flight is empty, they will probably let it slide, because no one is going to buy that seat anyway.  This is how it was explained to me by a flight attendant I once knew who worked for another airline though.

Start weight:  252 pounds

High weight:  268 pounds
