What I'm Learning

I'm still very new to this forum but what I'm noticing is that people are actually meeting their goal weights.

I have this weight in my head of 128 because that's how much I weighed when I got out of boot camp in 2000. I was pure muscle and my thighs didn't touch when I stood at attention.

I keep telling myself that that is not a realistic goal. I need to realize I'm 12 years older and it may never happen again but, in this forum, it doesn't seem that uncommon to lose the full 100lbs if you are diligent and embrace your new life.

I can't wait.

I lost 145lbs in less than a year and am three pounds away from my goal weight and have never succeeded on any diet for more than a few months before this.  I have been overweight my entire life.  I was not a skinny person who became fat.  This is the first time in my life that I can ever remember weighing what I do now.  Anything is possible! Trust in your sleeve!

You can dream big, it is totally doable.  I lost 93 lbs in 6.5 months.  You can do this.  Really.

What's achievable depends on two things: your determination and your body type.

I'm tall and large framed so my goals are higher, but I exceeded them - 156.5 pounds in less than a year. I was obese my entire life, from a toddler. I weigh what I did in elementary school, and at least 30 pounds less than I weighed by 6th grade. Never been below 240 lbs in my adult life and now weigh 162.5.

If you are only 12 years older than you were in boot-camp, you should be able to meet yours (might take a lot of exercises, as I'm betting you got some then!). Stick around. Read a lot. See what successful folks do.

Good luck!!
