When is the staple line considered to be completely healed for VSGs?
Thanks in advance for the replies.

I would guess around the 1 month mark since that is when they released me for a regular diet.

Can't go by that, my surgeon (and several others I know) do not release for normal diet for 6 - 8 weeks. At the 1 month mark I was just starting mushies.

Fair enough but I would hope my surgeon wouldnt tell me its ok to eat regular food knowing that its not healed yet and could do some dmg /shrug.

I also doubt he would do anything that would harm you, just saying that the numbers don't really mean anything since everyone seems to have diffrent ones LOL It's kind a crazy how all over the place it all is.

Yep, each doc does his own thing, I was just saying that you can't say that b/c YOUR doctor releases you at 4 weeks that that is when the healing is done, since some doctors don't release for 6 to 8 weeks does that mean that their patients heal slower? No, just means that each doc has his own time table, and healing is individual.

I'm not sure any of us are qualified to answer this question unless we are bariatric surgeons.  I could only tell you what they told me to do.
