If you dry jeans on high heat in the dryer, will they shrink width-wise (waist-wise), length-wise, or in both directions?

Both but mostly length, in my experience.

I'm not afraid of the dryer anymore....most times I crank it now.......

Pre-op.......I hated the thing.....

You should try crankin the heat up on few shirts......

I find that nothing shrinks now that I want it to.  Now, pre-op, the same dryer shrunk everything unmercifully.  Shrug.

I've been drying mine on high. Works great to shrink the waist and thighs. Haven't noticed any shrinking of the length.

Back in the day.....yah know when gas was .25 a gallon.....

We used to figure Levis would shrink 2" in the waist and less than an inch in length......

These days it's more like and inch in the waist and very little in length.

For longevity of the material....it's best to pull then from the dryer just before dry......supposedly it doesn't breakdown the fibers as much.....(your the scientist......tell me if that could be true...makes sense to me)
