birth control after VSG

My surgeon warned against BC pills, not because of absorption, we absorb everything just fine. The issue is the massive hormone flux post-op during the rapid weight loss period. He recommended a barrier method in addition any hormonal BC. I chose to not take anything, my husband was deployed for the first 4 months after my revision, we had and are always a condom couple. No issues with that method.

I have 3 friends who have Nuvaring babies, 2 friends who have patch babies(Both had RNY), and 2 friends with pill babies (one had VSG and got pregnant 3 months post-op).

I was supposed to get the Paragard, copper, IUD, but popped positive on a pregnancy test again just 3.5 months after delivering my daughter. Yep, I delivered Tatum on 30 October 11, and I'm pregnant again. We were using condoms until I could get in for my IUD appt.

I'm on the pill. So far, so good. I'm hoping to get pregnant this year, and while I'd like to hold out a few more months (my OB GYN is totally unconcerned if I get pregnant by 9 months post op), I wouldn't be upset if I got pregnant earlier.
