I have the IUD Mirena because I asked my doctor what was the best form of BC to take if I didn't want to take a pill everyday. It last up to 5 years & you can remove it at anytime. It hurt like hell to be put in but that only lasted about 10 seconds. Then I literally spotted for 3 months straight (which is expected). I love not having to worry about it at all. I actually stopped having periods within a year but then it started up again after surgery. I liked not having the periods but hey, it's not that big a deal.

I was on the pill before surgery.  Then I was told that the pill wouldnt absorb correctly after surgery. AHHH Freak out moment right there! I am currently on the patch now. Didn't even know they still existed. But that's what I use.

Please speak to your doctor as we do absorb differently.  My surgeon said they have seen babies post op of women thinking they were protected by the Pill.

Doesnt the ring cost alot if you have to go see the doc, or do you put it in yourself?? (Im not to sure about that if I had to do it lol)

You put the ring in yourself.
I don't get why people are weirded out about putting it in themselves :::shrugs:::

I am on the ring too and it works great. I put it in myself however I am on it for three weeks and then remove and put a new one in right away which means No period!
