I am 1 week out and craving food... anyone else have this issue?

I'm a week out, drinking my liquids and trying hard to get all my protein in each day. Still having trouble with protein because the sweetness of everything is really getting to me. I'm so tired of the same old broth, hot tea, water, protein shake combo. I want to eat food again :( I miss chewing and I still have one more week of liquids, then two weeks of mushies. I'm looking forward to adding some variety into my food choices during the mushie phase: Tuna, riccotta with sauce, refried beens with taco seasoning and cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy... sigh.
Has anyone else had problems during this stage? I mean at times I kinda feel hungry, which freaks me out, I do not want to feel hungry!
Okay I'm done with this vent. The good news is that I've lost 12lbs in one week. I'm off to make some more hot tea.

I had to do liquids for a month after so your pretty lucky, I had the HARDEST time not being able to eat but hang in there it will get better!
Hang tough, it DOES get better! I am just now 6 weeks out and life is slowly getting back to "normal".....not normal as in the bad eating habits I use to have but normal as in things are sitting better, my food options are a-plenty and life is good!!
Every food commercial that came on tv looked like the best thing in the world and I felt like I was gonna scream bc I was soooo sick of liquids and broth, etc. I dreamt of food....I missed chewing...I looked forward to chewing my vitamins each day just so I could have something that wasn't a liquid.
The first month was the toughest (1 week preop diet and first 3 weeks after surgery) but it gets better and easier!
Keep up the good work, you got this! :)

I know what you mean. My second week, I was also allowed strained cream soups, yogurt, sugar free pudding and jello. I'm tired of this diet, too. We'll just have to hang in there! I hear the mushie stage is so much better. A friend of mine makes chicken and beef in the crock pot with carrots and onions and puts in the blender. She says it is wonderful!

yes!!! watching my whole family eat sux big fat monkey balls!!! lol... i forgot on my other post, I've also been drinkin drinkable yogurt, which makes me feel more like i'm "normal" and honestly i did the cheese soup thing again last night and hubby had made chicken sandwiches and mashed potatoes, so i through a couple of tbspns of mashed potatoes in the cheese soup and it was great! Again, not on the "list", but it was thinner than oatmeal and grits so i say it fits the plan!
i havent been physically hungry yet (i think) but i have deff wanted to eat and questioned whether or not i was hungry... but even the cheese soup i made i could only finsh 2/3 so i was super excited cuz i know withe eating less like that I'm gonna do great!!!

WE'VE ALL BEEN THERE. NO NEED TO FEEL GUILTY. THAT'S THE BODIES WAY OF TELLING YOU THEY MISS THE FAVORITES. I REMEMBER DREAMING OF FOOD THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS ON LIQUIDS AND SOFT MUSHIES. I WOULD LOOK UP RECEIPES OF THINGS I WAS GOING TO EAT. I BOUGHT STUFF LIKE SALMON AND TILOPIA THINKING I WANTED TRY THE NEW RECIEPES. WELL MY STOMACH HAD OTHER IDEAS AND THEY ARE STILL IN MY FREEZER. GLAD TO HEAR ABOUT THE 12LBS.

Hi!
This to shall pass! I remember this in the beginnig
I was so tired of food comercials during my days of recovery I had to turn off the TV. Looking at rceipes made me even hungrier. Then guess what when I could finally eat everything filled me up too much!!LOL
I still have eyes bigger than my tummy aka portin
distortion. Weighing & measuring really helps with this
though. I never ate mashed potatoes by the time I got my protein there was no room left!!!
