Vitamin Schedule--what's yours?
Yep that's why I emailed them a week ago and haven't heard back. I figured it'd be easier but not looking like its so by their website & labeling. I bought some chewables for when I'm not at home. I do a little more then a cap in the morning to try to put it about 500mg dosage on empty stomach like they recommend, then my chewable with lunch or snack later.
Yeah I take them first thing in the morning on an empty stomach before I eat anything. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm not sure much will change because I remember the lecture pretty clearly from class but we'll see what she says. I think that fact that it's isotonic (like IV fluids are) that it makes things work differently then people taking pills and the information that they received in class. I'm paying quite a lot for these vitamins because their absorption rate was so high compared to pills and chewables. The Vitamins are over $50 a bottle and the OPC-3 is over $60+ a bottle.

This is the plan my bariatric team has put together for sleeve patients. They are very specific to making sure we take bariatric supplements, not OTC/store brand but those vitamins formulated for those who have had WLS. Their preferred company is Bariatric Advantage and is as follows (basic plan):*** Total of 1500 mg/day of calcium so you have to stick a couple calciums in between to get to 1500/day.
***Probiotic needs to be slipped into the day, also
Breakfast:
1 complete multi vitamin
500 mg calcium
Lunch:
1000mcg sublingual B-12 (or the weekly nasal or monthly shot)
500 mg calcium
Vitamin D 3
Dinner:
1 complete multi vitamin
500 mg calcium
Bedtime:
Iron not to be taken within two hours of calcium
women: 29mg
men: 18mg
Remember the calcium!
I'm curious to see the differences from doctor to doctor regarding vitamins.
Mine is similar, but don't have to go with a certain company. Its a nutritional fact you can't absorb more than 500 of calcium at a time. We were told to wait 2 weeks until we started. I don't take iron, had a hysterectomy.
But, my doc and NUT saids ok to take the multi at once.
Morning
I take two chewable centrums or flinstones
1 b21 sub 1000
Mid morning
2 chewable calciums from baratric advantage (I'll admit tried every calcium I could find, I'm just now being consistant)
Midafternoon
2 chewable calciums from baratric advantage
Dinner
PPI 30 minutes before dinner
2 chewable calciums from baratric advantage
1-2 Docusate
