****Maintenance Foods Mentioned****

So..... There I was driving along......I see this BBQ place that was on Guy Fieri's Show TrippleD

The owner that was on TV help me with my order.......

I ask for the 2 Meat Plate...... $16

He ask which two meats?........ I ask.....Which two do you suggest..... He says Pork Ribs and Brisket.
(when he holds his two fists together....tattoos on his fingers read "Pork Ribs"....I'm thinking...good choice)

So anyway....It came with Cole Slaw, Beans Mac&Cheese, Cornbread and some sauces.

I've eatin off this thing 6 times now and NOT gonna fini**** !!!!
(I have a 3-4 Day refrigerator rule for most foods)

That's $2.66 a meal for above average food.

Another one I had last week was at a chain restaurant called Rubios......Fish Taco Tuesdays....$1.50..... Ate the insides.....perfect.....Buc  Fittie......

Another one I go to is and Indian place..... I think it's $8.99 or $10.99 all you can eat lunch.....or One of those Square Styrofoam ToGo Lunch Containers filled as much as you can pack in it.......
I pack two layers of Tandoori Chicken...... like 8-10 pieces..... than stack on top what I'm going to sit down and eat for lunch..... So much chicken, i gotta freeze most of it !!!
That's like less than a dollar a meal for sure.....

I guess it all equals out when I pay the $125 Dinner tab and I only ate $5 worth........

Darn it Frisco, why did you have to post this tonight.  Now I am all hungry and dinner is over.  I am watching what I am eating until Wednesday, so no snacking.   I guess cauliflower and carrots it is tonight.

And another thing..... where are those mouthwatering photos you usually include.  If I am going to be tempted, we might as well do this thing in style.

In this case, it may pay to be a man... or at least- not be me. I ate off of a restaurant meal 4X in 2 days and ended up retaining water from the salt. I could barely fit my shoes. It took 5 days for me to lose the water.

Now, I have a 2X rule- preferrably once.

This is a critical subject for me. I have friends whom are so entrenched in the food scene here in Hawaii, I had to un-friend/unfollow facebook and twitter feeds to avoid pictures during my liquid pre-diet.

The "cost of food" in the long term is something I have been playing around with in my head and now that I am, tomorrow, transitioning to mushy foods, is a topic that I am curious about. Ultimately its my goal to diminish quantity, not quality of what I eat. though I have a long way to go before that.

since my Food friends (they abhor the term 'foodie') are my friends, many of my friends are also chefs, restraunteurs, sommeliers, food truck owners et al.  Last night I drove by one of my favorite food trucks and when I walked up to the truck to simply say hi, he already had my usual on the grill. Broke his heart to hear that i wouldnt be ordering. But he was very supportive of my decision. in fact,he made me an offer...

That night he called a group of friends and they all agreed, for my behalf, to create food items "bariatric sized."  I was touched and thrilled all at once. This guy is going to create 2.5 oz meat and veggie skewers for me. a couple others are doing "pay by the ounce" option to the menu.

It got me thinking...i wonder if there is a market for that kinda thing. A kind of "entertainment card/book" for bariatric eaters. "small belly friendly restaurants."

Funny you mention all this......

If you use the search feature here and search: Frisco

You will see some of my food samples.......

My Bariatric Food Blog will be up in a few weeks.....

And..... I'm in discussions on a book deal with a Chef from Hawaii......

I will be covering a lot of concept based on a new non-abusive relationship with food after bariatric surgery. Flavors, tools, technique for Quality over Quantity......
