Stall? I never even got a whoosh!

i gained 9lbs in the hospital. It will come off quickly. Don't worry at least you are getting nutrition and such... eventually they will take you off the prednisone and then the scale will probably show bigger drops... Sorry you had to deal with all this.

 a non surgical friend of mine was on prednisone last week and gained 8 pounds of water on her 5-0 frame. she looked pluuump, but a week after (last night) she was looking more normal.

I don't think you can really expect too much yet with taking the prednisone. Once you are able to get your 64 oz of water in then I would think you would start losing. It takes a week or so to start getting in the full amount of water that is expected.

Sis, you lost a GOOD amount of weight on the pre-op diet, so don't sweat it.  It's water weight and then the dang prednisone is going to interfere for a bit.  You will probably see a swoosh real soon, enough to make me green with envy!!  ha ha ha

Prednisone can cause a significant weight gain .  Do what you need to do to get the inflammation down.  If you can stay without even gaining that is a plus on the medication.  Most likely, when you go off of it you will then see a significant drop in your weight.  Good luck. JRTHinner
