How many carbs do you allow per day??

My plan calls for less than 50g a day. I try to keep it under and generally do well for 3-4 days then I easily creep up close to 75-100g. I think it's this whole 'I've done so good I need a reward' mentality. I'm not a dog who needs snacks to do her tricks but it's so hard for me.

These last 10 pounds are freaking killing me!!!

Any advice?? Should I cut the carbs way way down and white knuckle it?? Just try and keep it under 50 and increase my exercise??

Thanks!!

I'm usually under 50g per day but have gone higher.  I am pretty active though....have a physical job and walk 3 miles 3 times a week.

I do eat fruit but absolutely do not touch wheat, corn, or any type of bread.  The majority of my carbs come from things like beans, veggies, and fruit.

I try to stay at 50g or under.

Ditto what the doggz said, except I am beanless and I am at 40 carbs per day rations in my dog bowl....

I'm have my upper limit set at 30, including fiber carbs.. I'm normally around 20-22 if you do net.

30g total carbs. It's easy to follow since I'm newly sleeved but I am wondering how it'll be further out because I really like having beans and want to incorporate them as a non meat protein source.

When you reach that point.....give em a shot.  I know most people don't recommend experimenting during the weight loss stage....but I feel beans are a healthy food.

I can eat them and they do not affect me and actually help in the bathroom side of things with all the fiber they have.

I don't have them daily though and its a limited portion.

I love beans, too.  I have not had them since surgery because I was worried about the carbs.

I wish you would post what your daily meals are like.  I am having a difficult time with trying to figure out what I can eat.

Don't forget to throw some rice in there with the beans to complete the protein when you get to it (it's real hard to do vegetable protein without carbs.) I would have some rice and beans occasionally during the loss phase, usually as part of the filling of a Chipotle soft taco (usually sans tortilla). Now I routinely have about an ounce of black beans tossed into my typical lunch salad.

I work beans into my diet around 3 days a week.  Those days I'm up around 30g a day of carbs.  The rest of the wee****ep them at or around 20g of carbs.  That's total carbs not net.  I try to eat lower carb vegies (onions (ok not really a veggie but you know what I mean), cucumber etc. . . But beans are a staple, I like them, they are healthy AND they keep me regular.  Can't really ask for more from a food can you?

40 grams per day is my upper limit. I've had a few days over, but just barely. Most of the time I keep it around 25-30.
Keeping my protein high and the carbs low works well for me - keeps the cravings at bay!
