Have you read The Hunger Games? It's the only recent popular book series that I have really enjoyed, I finished all three over a weekend!

I was so pleasantly surprised with The Hunger Games.  I read all 3 in about a week.  I adored each book but felt the last one was a little rushed.

I like Hunger Games.

Lately I been rereading Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. I read the series in college, but my daughter had to read it for school (6th grade - she has cool teachers), so I'm reading again just for fun.

Love that series. My husband listens to books during his commute and he loves listening to the Ender series.

Yes - they are quick easy reads.  I just re-read them before going to see the movie.

Have recently read with my rating:
In Search of Lucy ****
Another Piece of My Heart (good)
40 Love ****
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (good & really interesting discussion on a patient's rights to thier tissues, etc after surgeries)
The Dark Monk (good - my roommate is the copy editor and got me an early edition)
The Marriage Plot (good)
The Shack ****
Flat Out Love (don't even remember this one - lol)
The Litigators (good)

I am currently reading Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet.  Fifty Shades of Grey will be next just so I can see what all the hype is about...

A great series of books are by Jacqueline Carey, Kushiel's Series.  I do read 2-3 books most weeks, sometimes more.

I enjoyed Hunger Games as well, not to shabby for Young adult Fiction.  Along same lines are the Mortal Instrument series (another series I quite enjoyed). Could not abide by the Twilight Crap. I like strong female lead characters in my books.

I worked in a book store for a while and was like a kid in a candy store.  I read quite a few young adult fiction books just so I could tell parents truthfully the age appropriateness of the books they were buying for there kids.

Been thinking about reading it, but you're totally right...I would rather read the Anne Rice books, isn't there one about sleeping beauty or something like that.

Yes, The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty is the first one, I read them years ago and loved them. The Story of O is another good one.

The writer is not going to get a Putzer prize anytime soon.  The girl is annoying, every other sentence she is "oh my....." "mmmm" "oh my god"  It got tired.    The guy is a controlling freak.  The sex got tired after awhile.

I read it and felt pretty uncomfortable throughout it. I kept thinking, "Really? Are there really people out there like that?"  I have no desire to ready the other two books. I just wasted my money.

Ok so I pushed through the first book and like the second.  Not the best book but as it is a topic at work.... I want to know what people are talking about.
