Straws

I know we are not suppose to really use straws post op, but I bought these really cute clear reusable 20oz cups with clear lids and colorful straws and they remind my of the ones from starbucks. So I figure if I use those for my yummy ice blended protein drinks, I would look forward to taking them every day to work to give my protein drink that Starbucks feel, lol and also use them for my iced water. So my question is, For those of you who do use straws, how long did you wait to use straws post op?

Till I left the hospital....so that friday lol. I drink almost everything with a straw including hot drinks (unless the cup is small) I actually swallow less air with the straw!
I can only drink with a straw. I, also, get less air in with a straw. I'm a gulper when drinking without one. Even now (at 8 months out), I can't drink without a straw. I have only been able to drink using a straw since the day after surgery. My sleeve is VERY sensitive to fluids, even now. I listen. If it likes the straw best, then that is what it gets. It's the only way I can get my fluids in.
I use a straw when I want. I don't really understand the rule. I never swallowed more or less air either way. I think this one of those weird rules that seem to exist just to make you go "um, whatever"
