Keeping food warm?

Wondering how you all keep your food warm when it takes so long to eat. Do you just eat the rest cold, or do you reheat it a couple of times? This evening I had a turkey roll up ( 1oz very thinly sliced turkey with .5 oz cheese ) that I seared in a pan using a tiny bit of cooking spray. The first bite was delicious, but since it took me 30 mins to eat it was really cold by the last bite. Suggestions?

I did reheat my food when I was first out.  Now it doesn't take me as long to eat so I don't worry about it.

Did you reheat it in the microwave? I'm worried about stuff drying out too

The microwave does mess up leftovers for sleevers.  I had to stop using it because my "protein" leftovers were getting tough and rubbery and I couldn't get them down after re heating.

I now basically cook meats fresh each time (have 2 oz portions in the fridge/freezer - like a pounded out chicken breast) and just cook it in 2-3 mins on the grill.  Not much slower than nuking it and its fresh each time.

Some people use the ceramic warming plates that you can but to place under a mug of coffee or tea.  I'm not sure were you can get them, maybe bed bath and beyond?

I use mug warmer and I love my lunch size crockpot! This is great for soups, broths and anything like that.  It cost $20 at target.  Keeps my food hot while I take an hour to eat a soup.

Ditto on the electric cup warmer or you can use a candle warmer if you cant find a cup warmer., thats what I ended up getting.   Definately a must have item for sure.  Keeps your food, soup or tea warm down to the last little nibble or sip!

It gets easier.  My meals usually take around 20 mins to eat.  I almost always stop at that point.

It did take a while to build up to that and I have the biggest issue in restaurants where I would be talking and socializing in between bites and it might take longer.

I eat A LOT of food cold.

You can buy insulated plates/bowls.

Here in New Zealand theses are available through tupperware or in your picnic section in one of your malls perhaps?, as you can get insulated food carriers plastic bows that stack with a carry handle
