walking was the best thing for the gas. Also sitting up went I was resting. I learned this advice from Vets here and they were right: sip, walk, rest and repeat. The gas pain is brutal but, it will pass.

I have a really short torso so in the beginning I stood up while sipping. I would actually walk circles in my house carrying a bottle of water and sipping. This is because the first 5 days I was on pain meds and felt like I wasn't awake long enough to get all my water in so I multi-tasked :)

I just got home as well... I had gas very bad the first two days after, but I sat up straight and it was alot more comfortable.  On the 3rd day it really started to come out and even more, the 4th day.  I am feeling almost back to normal in that department.  I walked around as well, but the upright position helped stop the pain the most.
