Dr. Cirangle stated in the live VSG that 32 bougie should be used...
Just for the records..... So it doesn't get deleted.

WHO DIED and made HIM the WIZARD OF OZ? Instead of sponsoring this public OH forum, censoring his pts posts here. He needs to get off his egomaniacal high horse and take a look around this forum and see the thousands of us going to hundreds of different surgeons....and "losing the amount of weight we need to" and who DON'T have a 32F UPtight sleeve.
If his pts lose slow, c/o stalls ...he berates them for skewin his make believe stats (do an OH search!!) Ive never read so many complaints from pts about their surgeon...in the entire US...than his! Ive been here long before his office bought this forum. His pts also RE-gain...Elina, a scale hound...was crying about REgain not too long ago...old vet MacMadame had VSG around same time as me....has posted about her REgain. At least they have the balls to come forward.
Ive seen pts of his that come here and complain about their treatment...They get run off! ..Im wondering how many HUNDREDS....of his VSG pts out there that lurk who dare NOT speak....but struggle in silence with their tight 32F sleeves. Prolly self-loathing because they fall short of his expectations. His reputation is well known on DS and Main Forums too
This forum is not and should not be all about selt-stimmin, blowing smoke up each others asses, and fear mongering.......its about STRUGGLING with all of our obesity issues and trying to find our way thru this maze too! ....we're all here on the same VSG ticket..no matter the bougie size!
Statements like his are..absolutely FEAR-MONGERING/TERROISM...absolutely PANDERING.....take a look at the Criangle Clones posts (the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree)...virtually ALL fear mongering, pimping their "surgeon", oneupmanship, pointing fingers, berating others for making mistakes.... if they ain't self-stimmin or strokin each other or the "select few" off that is ...even when they make the same mistakes!....all in the guise of being "supportive"! passive aggressive BS...This ain't no popularity contest...I don't give a rat's ass what surgeon does the tightest sleeve ..at the end of the day....they have the same WORRIES post op ....we all have. 40F or 32F...
It doesn't make a bit of DIFFERENCE...to ME........I don't want what I don't have.
n sorry if my post offends you...its the way I roll...There's plenty of room for ALL of us.
With that...I ask YOU....are YOU in trouble?

Ok...well, this has been educational.
I asked my surgeon this very same question. He too uses the 40f bougie. We discussed why he does this. He told me that it's his preference because he's read research on it and has found that patients whose surgeons used the 40f bougie have had less complications whi*****ludes less leaks. I asked if his patients were still successful with weight loss and he basically said a lot of what's already been said. He's had a lot of successes but still, if you choose to not change your lifestyle you can out eat any of the surgeries out there. He assured me that he has faith that I can do this and the 40f will work for me. I trust him...I wouldn't be going to him if I didn't.
Talk to your surgeon...ask him questions like this and see what he says. Don't be afraid to ask your surgeon questions; it's their job to field these questions. My surgeon thinks it's hillarious because I walk in with my iPhone and pull up the note tab and fire 5-6 questions his way every time I see him. (I have to see my surgeon once a month for 3 months pre-op for my insurance to cover surgery). I ask his nurses and NUT questions too. (Normally I get a "that's a wonderful question" or an "I wish all my patients would ask these things.") Arm yourself with knowledge and ask questions of your surgeon and his staff until you feel comfortable. I'm comfortable that the 40f he's going to use will work for me if I make it work for me.

Thank you for all for your post and I am not offended by none. I guess by him saying that, and his live surgery being highly supported on OH, I thought he was perhaps the "VSG GOD." I find comfort in all of your words. I know that the sleeve is a tool and that my mind is the biggest factor in whether I am successful or not. I thank my sleeve family for sharing their honest opinions and research. We will do this togther and I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL!
