I am just starting this process and met with my surgeon for the first time today. She actually recommended I do the VSG instead of Roux-en-Y, because I occasionally take Nsaids for joint pain. She said they are fine to take. Kelly on the Gastric bypass board is really knowledgable. You could also ask her, if you are trying to get an answer before your surgeons office opens.

I take two Aleve every day with my surgeon's approval. That's one big reason I ruled out RNY early on. I couldn't function without it.

I was tld to just take tylenol.  If you need to take them try not to long term.  I was told that we could be more susceptible to stomach ulcers after the Sleeve surgery.  Good luck. Jill

I take them just fine.  I have no restrictions as to what I can eat or take meds wise.  I wouldnt take them while your still healing but if you can eat a full diet of dense protein and digest that, I wouldnt see why you cant digest NSAIDS.  Of course though, you should talk to your surgeon about it since you may have other history that I wouldnt know about.

Because our pouch is so small NSAIDS are not to be taken. Both my surgeon, PCP and NUT say this.
