Is your surgeon an Optifast clinic? If so that is why they are pushing Optifast. It looks pretty much like Medifast which is also very expensive (about $300 per month).
How long are they wanting you do to the Optifast?

I need to discuss it with them more--I think about 2 weeks

My clinic required it.  It went through my insurance though so I didn't have to pay out of pocket for the Optifast.  Good luck!

I started it on Monday, and next Thursday is my surgery. A 10 day supply cost me $160. I wish my insurance would have paid for atleast some of it. I hate tomato soup, so my dietician told me to do the chicken. YUCK! I have to force it down! But I got 2 packages of the tomato and don't mind it at all.

Yeah I hear it is absolutely disgusting! It would be nice if my insurance coveredit too! They cover 100% of the surgery so I guess I will find out when I schedule all my appointments!
