I did something stupid. Go ahead and laugh at me.
I haven't had my surgery but I was downtown today and I past by this store and I saw these cute pretty jeans and I got a them on a size 10. I want to wear them for my birthday in August. I am going to put them on my wall in my bedroom by my mirror. That way everytime i wake up, I will see them and it will push me to work my sleeve. I wanted to get something tangible that I can see and know that I am going to wear soon. I am a size 16 now. Do you guys think I am crazy to think that I am going to fit on a size 10 by August? LOL
Go ahead laught at me and tell me I am a geek. LOL

It really depends on a lot of factors.
I'm currently a 16-18, and on the day of my surgery (2 months ago tomorrow) I was a 22. Having said that, we all lose differently, and even among people who lose at the same speed, we tend to lose it from different areas at different times.
I think it's great that you have a size in mind, and that you have a goal set that's not weight-related. You'll be in those jeans before you know it... whether it happens in August or not!

I'm very happy that you have set a goal. Don't be suprised if you only get to wear those jeans a couple of times and then find they are too big. Every time I purchase new pants...they only would fit for about a couple of weeks for the first few months.
Don't get hung up on clothes until you level out. I'd buy two pair and wash every other night.
May I suggest something that I should have done. Use the health tracker. Start using it with weight and measurements now - even before surgery. I only kept up with my waist and weight. I should have done more with it.
Great Success to you.
Bob
PS - You're not a geek. You're setting your sights!

I did the exact same thing the other night. I found a pair of (now SERIOUSLY don't laugh) Pajama Jeans in Target for $10. I've been wanting some, but there is no way that I would pay $40 for them. So yeah, the only size they had was a size 10/12 and right now I'm an 18 but I bought them anyway. I figured that someday it would be worth it ;)
People who don't have as much to lose, end up losing slower than someone who has more weight to lose. It's possible to lose about 20 lbs on the post op diet. That usually lasts about 4 weeks. Then people go into the famous 3 week stall and complain that they haven't lost anymore.
You're going to love the sleeve, and how you look in those new jeans. You'll be able to wear them for sure, but it may not August. Just celebrate that you're going nowhere but down!

I think its great that you are so ready for surgery and committed to a goal and I'm sure you'll be in those size 10's very soon, even if not in August , and if only for a little while before you drop down to an 8. By the way my birthday is in August also, and we started out at about the same weight and have almost the same goal. Best wishes!!
