Percentage of women to men
Why do you all think that there are probably 85% women here with this surgery and maybe 15% men? Not accurate stats .. just guessing.
I know men are usually more stubborn and dont like doctors and such from what Ive seen as a paramedic for 19 years. What are your thoughts on why its so many women compared to men?

lol well I'm not a man...but I think it's because like you said men don't like going to Drs. Also, women have pressure to be thin...big time. I don't think it's quite as much as men...still I've never been a man so I might be wrong. I know my boyfriend is big but would never do it. He thinks he can do it himself but he doesn't do it. Also, sometimes I think being able to eat a lot is seen as manly in some way...idk...but I actually really think not as many men have the surgery. I think big can also be associated with being manly so is more acceptable for men...but just all guesses. I'm very intrested to see what the men think.
It is socially more acceptable for men to be "big", husky, as for women anything above a size 14 is FAT, not thick, not attractive, not anything but fat, lazy, sloth like and gluttonous.
Well and women are typically more vain than men, and we cave to social pressures more than men. Botox, new boobs, fillers, nip tucks here and there to look good to everyone else.
Of course, women are more aware and concerned with our health. We get swabbed, groped, weighed, measured every year for various cancers, lumps, bumps, nodes etc and we go every year without fail. Men typically do not go for an annual physical and only go when they've had something traumati****ur. Even then, men are stubborn and don't visit the doc as often as women.

My PCP ( a man) says the reason why, generally, healthcare is more proactive when it comes to women is because men don't want to listen to us complain about stuff hurting so they start complaining to the docs too. Healthcare professionals figure the only way to shut up the men is to find cures for the women.
He gave me stats and everything.
He's funny.
