Frisco Small Rant !!!
We have all had issues. That is why, in general, we are here. However, there are those among us, who have not delved into their own particular psychological issues and who may have a few personality disorders thrown in and have chosen this board draw continued attention to themselves. Some people need extra assurances that they are special or different. Be it for better or worse. Unfortunately, this is the forum they have chosen. These individuals, unless they obtain counseling, may not be successful in their weight loss journey. This is also a sign of the pour screening and preparation process going on in some surgeons programs today.

It's a cop out too. By giving up any personal strength (and i get it...I soooo get food addiction) and hiding behind your issue, a person can easily deny their responsibility. And (as an American) isn't that what our culture wants? Entitled to the best in life but with minimal (at best) personal responsibility? And seriously, in a group ofull of morbidly obese people who are fighting for their lives, it is plain insulting and ignorant to think your weight issue is somehow more difficult.
I may be in a bad mood...I want to eat sugar wafer cookies with my husband...but i am not. My food addiction is calling...screaming at me to numb some pain...but instead I am just wading through my crappy drug free.

OMG Slim, I just spit out the water I was drinking from laughing at your post!!!! LOL

As you may be aware, I'm relatively new here. I **LOVE** that there are people (like those lovely images above) who call it like it is and tell the truth. When I read that posters "are mean", I personally roll my eyes. Here in Canada, I have to jump through hoops to get surgery. Some are able to finance international treatment but because of a genetic blood disorder it would be not be wise for me to leave my universal health care. I am shocked when I read posts that say "My surgery is (this date) so what should I expect?" There certainly are things the pamphlets don't tell you but I should hope you carefully researched and talked to vets before you booked a surgery! The other is people whining (and yes I do mean that word) about not being able to eat what they want or that not following their doctor's advice has slowed weight loss.
I personally stopped the soda cold turkey as well as candy, sugar, and the carbs that I so love 2 months ago. I can boast a 28 lbs loss in that time because I follow a similar diet to what I hear most vets say they were prescribed. In the end it will make me a better patient. How can an individual think that ice cream, fries, bread and sweets in smaller quantities will give them a healthier life? I know that I didn't start eating a whole pizza in one sitting. It started one slice at a time.

I think people just want to feel like they are not alone and that people do care about them. That being said I definitely have my days where everything I read here ****** me off. I do think it's good to get it all out in the open as well. After a good rant, a nice deep breath and a sigh of satisfaction I know I feel better. Rant away Frisco, rant away.
