Price of protein drinks
Pre-surgery I was spending $134.00 a month on meds and insulin. I no longer go to fast food resturants. I take my lunch every day. I figure that I am saving $30.00 a week on lunches alone. Plus the $134.00 is a total savings of $164.00 a month at minimum. So the $50.00 I spend in Protein powder is totally worth it.
And I won't even go into all the other things that I save on being smaller like finding more clothes at the thift store.

Well---yes it's a little high. But not too much more than others
For example, I have an EAS powder----made with water, 1 scoop is 130 cals and 23 protein (and 3 carbs).
So with water a double would be 260 cals with 46 protein and 6 carbs. Taste with water for me is ????.
So I get 40 protein, 260 cals---It's my breakfast and am snack. Plus it's relatively thick (I know allot of folks don't like that). But it eases my VERY acidy AM stomach. I don't eat until noon.
Works for my numbers. I get 40 from my shake and 40 or more from lean protein under 800 total cals. (usually 80 protein per day).

I hate protein shakes, i hate the taste, the texture. My presonal trainer used to make me drink one before leaving the gym, and i would usually throw it up once i got home.
i knew i was gonna have a problem with them once i had the surgery. but i had decided to be a good patient and JUST DO IT!
i was wrong i couldnt do it. then as i was going through my surgery guide that my bariatric coordinator gave me, i remmeber her saying something about doble milk. double milk is skim milk mixed with powder milk. it makes for 16g of protein. which is about the same amount that comes in most protein shakes.
the recipe was to mix:
-1 cup of skim milk
-1/3 cup of powder milk
i used to flavor it with some splenda, or some cocoa powder, later on i started adding berries to ir, or other frozen fruit. it taste good and u get ur protein.

I got the GNC total lean shake RTD and it was $118.00 for 90 bottles! We can have up to 5 a day they are 14oz. Do you have a GNC, you can go to? For a case of 12 bottles is was $ 28.88 and I use my gold card and the 1/2 off. I wish you could have got that deal. Well we have one month from to day sleeve sister I can't wait I will SEE YOU there!
