Bike ride report

YES! I always love to hear about fellow bike addicts.  Keep the 12-steps away from me on this one!  I bike with one group that has guys up to their 70s--I want that to be me.  

Go out and kick some ass on you bike!  This is a new life, and it is so amazing.  Congrats.

 Hell yeah!  I was training for a Make A Wish Ride here in Mass. but realized 120 miles in 2 days was something I need more than a month to train for. So I am driving the chase vehicle and getting ready for next year! 

(And hey, if you want to be a 70yr old guy more power to ya!)  

Ha!  That group is called the Geezers of Fury, and there was quite a bit of resistance to lettin us female types get jerseys.  They sort of ridiculed us for wanting them!  But they are a cool group and we wanted jerseys, and now we are getting them.  The other day we were doing a highway trash pick-up with them, and I was signalling a car to move over for safety reasons--and the  car wouldn't move over.  So I swore a tiny blue streak, then laughed and apologized to the geezer nearest--who laughed and said "You're a geezer, that's par for the course."  Ah, acceptance.

OK, I don't want to be a GUY, but I want to be 70 and on my bike.  I did ride the century with 8 guys.  I think I was #2 or 3 in hill climbing.

Check the stats:  Distance: 96.25 mi Time: 5:16:33 h:m:s  Elevation Gain: 3,497 ft  Avg Speed: 18.2 mph 

Check that, I don't WANT to be 70, but if I have to be 70, I want to still be riding.  Yikes, hope I have good balance cause surely things break easily at that age.
