I will not eat (insert bad food)

Hi All,
I just wanted to write a post to hold myself accountable to this evening. Hubs did some design work for a charity cook off tonight, and I'm going with him. There are 2 chefs going head to head, and I have no idea what the menu looks like.
So, here's a list of things that I absolutely WILL NOT eat:
sugar of any sort or anything containing sugar, rice, bread, pasta, potatoes, starches in general, bacon, fruit, anything that might contain butter, or anything that just does not fit into my plan right now.
Some things I will allow myself to have, if they are available are: lean, soft protein, a bite or two of non starchy veg depending on how they are prepared.
If there isn't any food I can eat, I will shovel it all on to hubs' plate and have a protein shake when I get home. Can anyone add to my list of things that I should absolutely NOT eat? Thanks!

I don't think there are any "bad" foods.  There are foods that I limit either because of calories or lack of nutritional value, but there's not much that's an absolute "NO, NEVER."

But, when I was a few months out, I was very cautious about trying anything eating out that I hadn't already tried at home, which pretty much kept me limited to simple protein and some veggies.  I was more concerned with having a bad reaction to something while in public than anything else.

You're right about the bad food thing. The foods I've listed are foods that aren't ideal nutritionally, and for the most part foods I haven't tried yet post-op. I am trying to be cautious and prepared

Gurl, what's wrong with bacon???
I know it's high fat but if you taste something with it ...
it's up to you though ... I would have a hard time resisting it. It is low carb...

I do think you are going in with a great mindset on what to eat while you are there. Good luck gurl!!!!

Oh girl, there's nothing wrong with bacon. I would marry bacon if I could. Therein lies the problem I guess, I love bacon too much it's just easier for me to go without than tempt myself! Thank you, I'm trying to go in to it with my brain as prepared as possible

a piece of bacon will not make you gain weight.  But being too restrictive will make you feel deprived.  Much like when I use to crash diet in the past.  Follow your doctor or dietician's rules for your eating; but please don't feel like you are on a crash diet.  I got to 147 lbs and started eating wrong things with sugar and gained 15 lbs in a few months.  I want to get back there.

Fruit was something that was added to my plan in the mushy stage, ate sf applesauce.  Also was able to add a little fresh apple for fiber when I could eat fresh veggie/fruits at 4 months.  Berries are also good which are low carb.

It is important that we do not get malnurished.

You're right, a piece of bacon won't make me gain weight. But a piece of bacon will make me want more and more bacon, which will make me gain weight. I am not cleared for fruit on my plan yet, which is why I put fruit on there. I don't feel like I'm depriving myself, it's more of a "just not right now" situation.

I do understand very much.  Some of us can't limit portions and that is why the sleeve is so great.  In the beginning, I ate just what was on my plan, after I reached my goal of 147 lbs, so continuie to eat as your dr's plan says, and you will make your goal.

Fruit?? What's wrong with fruit?

Sounds like you won't be eating anything. Unless you plan on bringing your meal. Which might not be such a bad idea.
