"You Cheated"
ppl think its crazy to get your stomach cut out, they also think its cheating, i tel them my stomach was taken out not the fat, i stil have to loose that, i work out 6 days a week and have changed how and what i eat, and i bring it to their attention that many ppl wiht the gastric bypass have gained all the weight back so i dont feel the surgery is cheating at all.. just a diet tool
WOW!!! Am I shocked though, absolutely not because if anything is certian, it's that common sense is just not common! You handled that well, but that's like telling me I cheated when my son was born via c-section! And for a medical professional to have said it is even worse. Yes I would say somethign to the doctor about the exchange but will she change - I'm guessing NO! Here's your sign!
I loved how you answeed her questions, but I think I would have added in a note about how offensive her comments were to a patient so the dumb ass would know not to do it again.

First, Kevin, congratulations on your success and your classy job of handling the "cheated" comment. Second, I might have a different perspective on the situation than some of the others here because I am a VSG patient AND a senior manager of a primary care clinic! If this person worked in my clinic, I would hope that the patient would let me or one of the other practice managers know what was said, not to get the person in trouble, but to educate this person on how damaging what she says can be to the patients. If this was said to you, you can be certain that other comments are being made to other patients. Anyway, keep up the good work!!
That was very rude of the Nurse. I am a nurse and would never say that to anyone! I have gotten those reactions from other people just telling them that I am planning on having surgery. I have been on the liquid diet for some time now and it is one of the hardest things to do!! You have to keep a good mindset and lots of willpower to succeed. You should be proud of yourself for loosing the weight and keeping it off!
