Im wondering if any of you would be willing to recommend some good books that have been helpful throughout your weight loss journey.  I will be getting my sleeve in just over a week - 25th of June - and I would like to do more to set myself up for success right off the bat.  Thanks so much!

The psych I met with suggested "The Beck Diet Solution".  It's a workbook to address our emotional dependancies with food.  I found it really helpful.  Even downloaded it in my iPod to listen while I was working.

Take care...

2 books i just purchased and love them both -

1.  The Emotional First + Aid Kit - A Gractical Guide to Life after Bariatric Surgery by Cynthia L. Alexander, PsyD

By far, the best book I ahve seen to help get your mind in the place it needs to be and to look at situations in a common sense and no nonsense approach.  Prepares you for not only surgery but the years following.  HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

2.  Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery by Patt Levine and Michele Bontempo-Saray

Great recipes for down the road, high protein/low carb, easy to make and no really unusual ingredients.

I got them both on Amazon at reasonable prices.  Best of luck to you!

"Obesity Surgery:  Stories of Altered Lives"  Helps to prepare you for the unforseen changes that WLS can cause, like divorce, etc.

My friend put the audio book to 50 Shades of Grey on my ipod to listen to while I was in recovery in the hospitol and that certainly took my mind off things! LOL!
