Unflavored Protein....

Okay so I'm trying to prep for my first two weeks post-op when I can't have my wonderful shakes. I have some unflavored protein, but someone told me once it isn't good if it's put in hot liquids.

Well how on earth am I to get it to disolve in jello or broth when i can't put it in warm? I HATE cold broth and know that I can live off sugar free jello (always been a jello girl).

Oh and what is this with Nectar? I tried one and it was disgusting. Please tell me that not all flavors are that gross.....I don't know that I could do those for two weeks.

Can someone help me out and point me in the right direction?

I boil the water and mix the hello then put a thermometer and wait until it gets to 130 and then mix the protein in. My clear liquids let me have any protein powders, even chocolate as long as it's mixed with water. Another favorote is to make crystal lite lemonaide and add injury strawberry sorbet. I liked the syntrax cappacino, chocolate truffle and cookies and creme, the cherry was pretty good too.

I put the unflavored protein in liquids and then heated it up, sometimes it worked and sometimes it doesnt. What really got me through my two weeks post op was greek yogurt. I took strawberry protein powder and mixed it in plain greek yogurt and I believe it ended up being around 22 grams of protein for 1/2 cup. (now I wont touch it, im so sick of it). I dont like nectar either. You should go to mybariatricpantry.com and try the syntrax matrix sample packs, they are AWESOME! but I have to tell you, the protein drinks that agreed with me preop didnt work post op- NONE of them. I have a whole pile of them in my room. lol. Just message me if you have questions :)

I can't stand greek yogurt right now. Maybe that will be one thing that i LOVE post op. I haven't purchased a great deal of protein pre-op because I know that my tastes will change. Just really hope I still like the Unjury Chocolate Splendor. It's HEAVEN with super skim milk!

Thanks for the advice and I just might end up hitting you up in a few weeks.

Honestly, greek yogurt is nasty by itself, but putting flavored protein powder in it is great. My taste actually didnt change at all... lol

I add about  or 2 oz;s of water and blend in my scoop of protein in a giant mug.  I then add about 1/2 cup of hot coffee and blend again.  I can then top it off with more coffee.  I have heard this before about protein,  I think It depends on the brand.

I nuked my 4 oz. of chicken broth for 33 seconds and thought it was pretty hot but it was only 90F so I added the Unjury and shook it up and voila.
