So I started my pre-op liquid diet two weeks before my surgery on May 21st at 260.8 lbs. I had my VSG two weeks ago. I stepped on the scale yesterday, which was June 21st and I've lost exactly 30 lbs. I went from 260.8 to 230.8. Now don't get me wrong, I love the fact that I've lost 30 lbs., I just wonder if 30 lbs. in one month is too fast. I've had so many experiences with diets where I lost quickly and stalled. I would hate to see that happen again. I also wonder if I'm not getting in enough protein and that's why I'm losing. Since my sugery two weeks ago I can say I've really only been getting 40 grams or so a day. I've just had a tough time with upset stomach and such. I know I should just be happy, but for some reason this success is making me nervous...
It's not too fast, and it will change. Take a look at te numbers in my signature and you'll see what I mean.
The main thing is don't focus on dates and don't focus on numbers. Focus on your eating plan and exercise plan. Those along with group and counseling are your keys to success.
