So thankful...

As I read about other people's pre-op diet,  I am so thankful that mine is "easy."  I have to have 2 protein shakes a day and a small sensible dinner. I can snack on jello or yogurt (sugar free jello that is).

I KNOW I'm going to have a hard time with the straight liquid diet post surgery, but I won't have the ability to actually eat anything. Where as now I can eat anything I wanted if I wanted to. I really have to say that I am proud of myself. Some of my co-workers have said they did not do well at all on the pre-op diet, and I am happy to say I have cheated a total of three times and paid the price all three times. My body does NOT like bad food anymore!

BRING IT ON SLEEVE! I'M READY FOR YOU!

You go girl!!! I guess I'm lucky too. I have Kaiser ins and they don't require me to do a pre op liquid diet. I just have to stay on a 1200 calorie diet and choose healthy foods. Its been a struggle but I am doing pretty good. They also required me to lose 10% of my weight or they won't schedule surgery. I did it somehow!! lol Now I'm just waiting for the call to schedule surgery... Should be in August I hope...

That waiting game is such the hardest part! I HATED waiting from my approval to get my date. It seemed like there was always another appointment I had to have before I could schedule. Luckily my wait for sugery was only 3 weeks once scheduled! I am NOT a patient person! lol

Good luck!!!! Hope you hear soon!

I was glad to read your post.  I've been feeliing so very guilty that my pre-op diet is basically 1000 calories how ever I want to do it when there are so many total liquid pre-ops out there.    I didn't want anyone to know.  haha

I do think I'm going to go with their "suggested" menu which is similar to what you said ... mostly protein drinks and maybe a frozen dinner or something.  I officially start it on Monday, but really started limiting my calories a week ago just to try to smooth out the transition.

Good luck
