Stall or Not Working?

Hi. Sleeved may 7th. I lost 17lbs in the first 2 weeks post-op then I hit a complete "stall" where I didn't lose a lb for 2 1/2 weeks. I guessed it was a stall. I asked on the forum before & others agreed. The stall "broke" and I lost another 10lbs & now I haven't lost any weight again for about a week.  I'm about 7 wks post-op and have lost 27lbs total which is GREAT but seems super slow & with stall at every corner. What has taken me almost 2 months to lose others lose in a couple of weeks. I'm really having a hard time staying motivated & to the program without any results. I'm eating nothing but protien. I feel like I was eating more & loosing more before surgery than I am now after surgery. I eat about 600-800 calories a day & excerise every other day. Am I just doomed to be one of those people who looses super slow? What's wrong with me? Any tips or advise? Thanks foryour help. I appreciate it greatly.

I have not had surgery yet and I am still in the research phase.  Do you have any advise?

You are probably just a stair step loser.  There is nothing wrong with you.  Just make sure that you are getting your water and protein in as well.  At the small amount of calories we get in, we will lose.  Don't think there is anything wrong with you - and don't compare yourself to others.  Each person's journey is individual.  Some people lose fast, some slow, some stair step.  Even if you do lose slow, just remember: YOU ARE LOSING.  And that is what is important.  My advise is not to beat yourself up, rejoice in the weight loss you are getting.  27lbs in 7 weeks is nothing to sneeze at.  Keep your head up.

At ten weeks, I've only lost 25 but at least I'm losing.  I wouldn't have been able to lose it without the surgery that's for sure. Even if we are slow losers we will get there. Hang in there!!

My loss pattern for the last almost ten months is to lose in a stair-step fashion. I will lose a pound a day for four or five days in a row, then "stall" for a week to ten days.  Then the pattern starts over.  I don't know what your surgery weight was, but many "lightweights" tend to lose slower than those who start out heavier.  Don't get discouraged. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

I am losing about the same as you and have the stalls.... so maybe just do a weigh in once a week.  I took my measurments and I have lost 3 inches in that time period on my waist and 5 inches on my hips.  But I am losing slowly like you.... I think the stair step thing might apply to me.  I BARELY get in 600 calories a day so there is no way I cannot lose weight.

Your weekly average loss is about 3.8 lbs, which is great! Mine averaged 2 lbs. It felt like it was very slow at the time, but it only took 6.5 months to get to my initial goal. Hang in there!

someone who is not that overweight or someone with a lower BMI.
That's like trying to compare someone that has to loose over 200 lbs (like me) to someone who only had to loose 60 lbs.
