I feel good, I WANT to work out but.........
I spent 20+ years as a dancer...I have a pretty ugly ankle that will never heal properly because I felt better and rushed back before doctor's advice...
as hard as it is for some of us to sit still, relax.... maybe go out for walks, even an 30 secong jog here & there.... but Id not do more than that...certainly not anything that would require use of abdominal muscles....
if you feel really spirited, feel free to come over my house & fold up the 34 loads of clean laundry I need to put away today

I had surgery on 6/5/12. After the second week, i was on the treadmill. My surgeon wanted us to start walking-as exercise- as soon as we possibly could. Just take it slow. It did make me more sore on my left side, but my surgeon said it was perfectly normal. If you are really worried about it, just call your surgeon and ask. Hope that helps!
Since my doctor said walk walk walk from the day after I assume that as long as that's what you're doing you'd be okay on the treadmill.
We are still weak from surgery though. I went to walk around my office building outside - couldn't do it. I'm walking around inside which is still a little tough but at least I'm not boiling as well. And if you feel shaky or weak, then stop. You're a grown-up, right?

Exercise doesn't have to be putting on sweats and using gym equipment. Go for a brisk walk around your neighbor hood. Go to a mall and walk around or an hour or "Power Shop".
