Whats your Fav easy or pre-made foods... Lets help those struggling
Absolute favorite for me is.....
Jack Link's Beef Jerky.
I buy it in big old bags at Smart and Final and then put 1 oz portions in ziplock sandwich bags so they are just grab and go. 80 cals, 15 grms protein, 4 carbs.......
Others......
Fage 0% yogurt
low fat string cheese
Costco Rotisserie Chicken (YUM!!!)
Babybel cheeses
Dickey's Smoked chicken breast (skinless and tasty)
I also keep almonds in the house, but use them very sparingly. Awfully high in fat when compared to the protein content. I'll probably eat more in maintenance.
Am just now beginning to keep veggie salads ready in the fridge (an Elina tip). Not cut up veggies, but tasty veggie salads. Today I made a lemon cucumber salad with Fage 0%, dill, garlic and a dash of kosher salt and cayenne. It's killer and 14 calories per half cup - not that I can eat quite that much, but ...... it's super low cal. Tomorrow I'm going to try mixing up a balsamic green been (fresh from the garden) salad with slivered onion and basil.

It's very easy.... old family recipe.... My mom made it for years. I just tweak it a bit for a little more zing.
Here you go:
4 lemon cucumbers (or 2 regualr cukes) thinly, thinly sliced.
put in a mixing bowl - sprinkle with kosher salt and toss - transfer sliced cukes to a colander and put in sink for an hour or so to drain.
In the meantime.... mince a bunch of dill weed to make a 1/2 cup. Add minced dill to 1 cup Fage 0% greek yogurt. Add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp granulated garlic (or 1 small cloved fresh garlic pressed) and a good hefty dash of cayenne pepper. Mix well.
After the cukes have drained, put them back in a mixing bowl, add the yogurt dressing and toss. Cover and put in fridge. Lasts three to four days in the fridge.
1/2 cup serving = 14 calories.
Alice Waters has two vegetable cookbooks that are really good. I use them quite a bit. I don't particularly like veggies, so having good recipes has helped me add them into my diet.
