NSV - turning the babies car seat -
So anyone who has installed a car seat knows that its a giant pain in the BUTT! It is finally time to turn my son around to face forward (he just clicked over to 35 lbs this last week, he will be three in Sept) and turning the seat was a BREEZE, what used to take me 25 mins of huffing and puffing and squeezing was simple when I could easily fit in all the tight little spaces to adjust the straps!
I am sad about turning him around (I am a big neurotic about carseats, and feel safer with him facing backward), but I know he will enjoy it.

Got a little teary reading this. Bittersweet NSV??? Great for you that you're so tiny now but hard from a Mom's point of view to see them grow up. Seems like I just brought mine home from the hospital a few weeks ago -- how my sons got to be 34 and 31 so fast is beyond me.
This might help put things in perspective for you. Right now, you just turned his car seat around. A couple of decades later, he will be turning YOU around on the dance floor for the Mother-Son dance at his wedding! Enjoy those decades, Tripmom -- they go by WAY too fast.

Yay!! That is awesome.
So while he was ERF did people question you why he was still rear facing? I get so many comments about my daugther being RF but in my eyes a broken leg is a million times better than a broken neck.
My 10 year old is still in a booster bec he is short.

I just smile and nod at anyone who said anything about my ERF, I try to educate where I can but mostly people who make comments don't want to learn they just want to make comments, like you my 9 year olds (soon to be 10) are still in boosters b/c they are short and their seatbelts do not sit safely on them when they are not in boosters. I won't even let them go with friends until I check them in the car they are going in (some cars they are tall enough, some have deeper seats and they are not).
I have even considered dropping another $300 for a new seat b/c the newest Britax has a higher rear facing weight then the one I currently own and I could probably keep him RF for another six months that way, but my husband isn't having it LOL
