First day of Purees went great!
VSG on 07/02/12
Sooo, I must admit, I was so scared to eat my purees today, I had been so used to nothing but iced water, premier protein shakes, fage Greek yogurt for these past two Weeks that the thought of change and thinking, what if I get sick eating or vomit or get nauseous. It must be the ocd in me, lol. But, No! It was actually a success! I had scrambled egg w/ cheese and a lil side of ketchup for breakfast which took me about an hour to eat cause I was taking the tiniest bites ever, lol. For lunch I blended a little bit of wendys chili with a lil water in my magic bullet and added a lil shredded cheese. For dinner, I made Shellys famous ricotta bake and I had 2 oz of that. I had all my water and one premier protein shake and I made sure not to drink anything till 40 minutes after eating. And let me tell you, Everything went down smoothly and tasted sooo good to me. Like I said, I am still a little scared and I am taking the tiniest bites and took an hour or two to finish my meals. So in the words of Ice Cube... Today it was a good day

I too am so afraid of adding foods. I should be eating puréed foods too but can't seem to get past the cottage cheese and yogurt. I just don't want to mess anything up and I'm I'm simply not hungry. I think I need to just remind myself that it's ok. I'm not adding anything I shouldn't be eating and it's all part of the plan.
Thanks for your post, tomorrow I may try an egg.

It is scary. I took it really really slow. I wasn't and haven't been hungry at all myself. Now I understand when some people on here say eating is a chore. I just wanted to get something else in me for a change cause I had only been getting around 300 calories in me per day when I was on liquids. Wish you the best too. I just took it suuuuuper slow
Sounds like you're moving right along on this journey.
A word of caution. Right now your stomach may still have numb nerve endings. Even when you get more comfortable eating, continue to eat slow because one day those nerve ending are going to wake up and what went down well yesterday may not go down well tomorrow.
Glad to see your taking it easy and doing so well,.
I wish you continued success
cheers,
donna
