This is a path that so many of us are walking, and unfortunately, I think we all have to struggle in our own ways.  There's no one easy answer that works for all of us.  But for me there's comfort in knowing we don't struggle alone, and hopefully we can learn something from one another's successes.
I like the sound of "long periods of peace around food".  I wouldn't say I exactly have peace at the moment, but it's only the annoying noise of the monkey rattling his cage.  Today I'll settle for not having to wage all-out war against the monkey.

Thank you for sharing this!

Yes, we each have our own paths.  At least we can understand a lot of what we all go through!!

Psst, here's a little secret.  I'm pretty darn selfish and I do this to help *myself*!  First and foremost.  And I want a place where we can support one another.  I'm just telling other people what I heard in hundreds of OA meetings from really wise and kind people who were there for me because *they* didn't want to end up back in the food.  I personally have learned the most from people that might seem quite rigid in their approach, because they help keep me focused on the seriousnes of my condition.  Thank you!!

Happy you are do doggone smart!   Of course this is a struggle like lots of life. If it were not a struggle there would be no wls, no support groups, no OH, no surgery follow up, no dieticians, no shrinks and none of the other things we all use to try to avoid overeating. Its work, its not easy and sometimes you gotta be pretty tough to get through it.

Yeah I thought the weight loss phase was really pretty easy. Only after a couple of years am I finding out how hard this can be.

But they say nothing worth doing is easy and this is so worth it. So I am willing to tough it out when needed and you are too. You get it. We all get it. there is great wisdom and power in your thoughts and we thank you for it.

And the only thing a pound of peanut butter fudge can fix is the finances of the person who sells it.
