Just got ok'd to do weights! Woohoo! So I do a lift class Wednesdays, I'm doing the couch to 5k (just started monday) 3 times a week. And I will do some weight things at the gym for my 5th day a week. If your not familiar with weights and all that stuff I say get a trainer. I ha one for 2 months before surgery. Best thing I did. I learned a lot. And since I cant afford it right now I can go do all the stuff I did with her. I really liked it a lot.

I'm a belly dance instructor, so I'll be back in the studio next week to get back to my students. I'm planning on ramping back up to my usual 6 hours a week in the studio after I get on more solid foods. I'm scheduled to return to the gym on August 18th, I put my account with the ym on hold from the day of surgery till then so I plan on starting back up with my trainer and lifting again at that point. I was training with my trainer 3 times a week and 2x on my own outside of dance, I know I'll have to take it slow when I start back up.

I'm dying not being able to work out right now. Did a few yoga asanas this evening with my bf just to see if i could, held my plank for on 32 seconds, which is pitiful for me. But it'll come back as the ab soreness goes away.

I am the lazy one. I do water fitness twice a week for an hour and walk off and on during the week. I do try to move my body and stretch every time I think of it. But I sure need to kick it up a gear, especially in the muscle retaining and building category. Been using stretchy bands a bid at home for resistance, seems to help.

“Not many of us are living at our best.  We linger in the lowlands because we are afraid to climb the mountains.  The steepness and ruggedness dismay us, and so we stay in the misty valleys and do not learn the mystery of the hills.  We do not know what we lose in our self indulgence.  What glory awaits us if only we had the courage for the mountain climb.  What blessing we should find if only we would move to the uplands of God.?  JRM

I've had a pretty lazy summer because of multiple plastic surgeries. However I normally lift weights 3x a week, I run 3-5 miles 3 or 4 days a week, I bike depending on time of yr and if I'm training for a race up to 25-40 miles a day once a week, then about 10 miles daily biking, and as soon as i'm done with surgery recovery I'm going to add a couple days a week of yoga. Oh I also walk my dogs most evenings for about 1/2 to 45 min. I love to run and was up to running 6 miles a day 5 days a week this summer, between surgeries. My only problem with running is it makes me really hungry! Keep in mind 80% of weight loss is what u eat ( at least that's what ive heard). This second round of plastics has really tired me out so my exercise is on hold, even the dog walking is only about 3 days a week. I'm only 2 weeks out tho so another 3 weeks I can probably get back to running. Doctor said no weight lifting for 6-8 weeks.
