Lamb - it's what's for dinner!

I was all set to cook this last night and then the power went out. Going to give it a shot tonight.

At our farmer's market I bought these incredible lamb sausages from The Spotted Trotter, some organic yardlong beans, and some dill and garlic goat cheese from a small, local goat farm.

I'm going to cook up the sausages, then lighly sauté the beans in a little bit of the goat cheese (instead of oil or butter). It will feed my husband and I tonight, and me for the next few meals.

I am SO lucky to live in a city where this type of food is readily available. I would strongly recommend to anyone who can get their hands on it - eat local - especially locally sourced, humanely raised meat. Since we can eat such little portions it's economical, even if you're cooking for a "normal" eater. Once you taste the difference you will not want to go back to factory farmed food. Oscar Mayer does not cross our threshold.

The best part of a meal like this is all I have to do is cook it - I don't worry about the seasonings or sauces or anything. Love it!

Yum! Which market did you purchase them from? Would be good with cucumber yogurt sauce too.

I got all of it at our local farmers market, but I'll bet Your DeKalb Farmer's Market has it all as well, except the Spotted Trotter, but they do have local meats available.

Have you been to Your DeKalb Farmer's Market? I walked through the fish department for the first time the other day and there are so many fishies available!

i love lamb. i have some frozen ground lamb raised locally by a good friend. and there is a little local butcher shop that sometimes has lamb sausage.

One of these days i am going to make my own lamb jerky.  but my hubby hates it. cant even stand the smell.
