This is me wearing the same dress.  two months to the day of my surgery.  This surgery is not only changing me physically, it is changing me mentally, emotionally.   Instead of reaching for food for confort, I am learning to talk my feeling out instead of eating them.  I am now obsess with working out.  I look forward to the gym, I look forward to my weekends jog.  I look forward to the little things that are making me life so much easier,  The simple task of walking now is a joy, shopping is now an adventure.  The big victories for me so far is not having to used a CPap machine anymore.  To sleep like a normal person, no filters, no mask, no monitors.  To feel like a normal girl for once,

I have a long way to go, I know that but this tool given to me.  This BLESSING given to me, is saving my life and showing me a new way of living.

Wow-- that is great after just two months.  How did you know you no longer needed the machine?  How long did it take before you felt comfortable not using the machine?  Did you do a post surgery sleep study to check the results?

Thanks,

I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea before my surgery.   My doctor told me that by just losing 20 pounds my sleep apnea was going to be in control or gone.

a month after my surgery I had a a sleep study, I still had some episodes but my doctor scheduled me for another sleep study in three weeks.  I kept using the machine although i felt that i didn't need it.  A week ago, I had another sleep study I was told by me sleep specialist that I  no longer needed the machine.  I still need to do another study in two months but I am pretty good now.

Packing that machine up, I swear I had tears in my eyes.

"Packing that machine up, I swear I had tears in my eyes."  Tears of joy I assume.  I hope to get off of a bipap machine as well...
