Thank you LadyPol! I agree. I think Kyle Liam looks funny. Maybe because they both have 4 letters? It is a great name though! I just want a name with meaning. I am so glad that everyone likes Donovan. I was nervous to use it and then have people think it was weird. I want him to have a good name and I think Kyle Donovan is!

I think Donovan is a great name all by itself. The fact that it is your maiden name makes it that much better! I don't have a great maiden name to do that with (believe me, I tried!), but yours is tailor-made for it. Especially since your child is adopted, it will give him a special tie to both you and your husband by sharing both of your names with him. I think it is a lovely gesture and a great name. Kyle Donovan has a nice ring to it, with the one/three syllable verbalization--it sounds good to the ear.

Thanks ib40! About 10 yrs ago I met a boy named Donovan and I thought it was the coolest thing ever! I have never met another one since! I like that it is not so common.

 Congratulations! My nephew is a Kyle too. He is Kyle Francis, with the middle name after his grandpa. However I vote for Kyle Nicholas, because it has a simular ring to it, but Kyle Donovan sounds great too. A special occasion deserves a special meaning, so just go with your heart.

I vote for Donovan.  I not only like the name but I love the meaning of it being your maiden name.  I have 2 boys and my maiden name is Ryan...and that is the middle name that I gave both of my boys.  It means alot to me.

Thanks Patty! I love hearing stories from other people who have also used their maiden names! This will be our 3rd child. Parenthood is the best and this little guy is precious!

Another vote for Kyle Donovan.  First because of the family connection, but also because of the way it sounds.  I like three syllable middle names with one syllable first names.  With Liam, the "L's" run together.  I also like Kyle Nicholas...it would be my second choice.

Add one more vote for Kyle Donovan. I think that giving him a connection to your parents is a wonderful thing. It also flows well. My second choice would be Kyle Nicholas. Kyle Liam just doesn't flow together as good. Liam is better suited as a first name. Just my thoughts. Oh, and congratulations.
