I agree with you 100%.  The only opinion I have to share is my own.  That's it, people can either take it, ignore it or think about it.  That's all I've got.  :)

When you're up to your ass in alligators, it's difficult to remind yourself that your initial objective was to drain the swamp!

If it feels good, do it!  And if it smells good, eat it!

Elina....this is what I posted in reply to that other thread.    I will tell you that I have only found you helpful.   You give advice when asked and you share what is successful for you....AND you post the best damn recipes.....thank you.   I find the other posts helpful too....I try to learn from all of you!

I am glad you found what works for you!   I think I read 90% of the posts on this forum daily--it helps me.   All of them do.

I will, however admit, that I rarely see anyone tell anyone what to do or what to eat unless they invite others to  comment on their menu or to share how they lost so much weight so fast....

I appreciate all of the perspectives, experiences, and sharing.   I appreciate the folks who are very strict and those that are not.   I try to learn from everyone and to figure out what is best for me.   I very much learn from the people who are brave enough to share they they went off plan and what the repurcussions (if any) of that decision was.

My goal is to lose weight...as quickly as possible and to change my head around this destructive eating pattern I developed over the years.     So far, I am followng the 90 gm protein, 600 cal and very low carb plan....it seems to work for me so far and is also helping me not crave carbs so a win for me at this point.  For now it is best for me.

As a last note....I think anytime we label anyone as "royalty" or whatever in a derogatory fashion, it does not help but might hurt....so what is the point?

I cheer people on and I LOVE encouragement. I also like diversity of opinion because I am a data gatherer and the more data points I have, the happier I am.

I am not at goal because people told me they ate whatever they wanted in small amounts and drank alochol and lost weight and I listened. Those people are now barely below 200 lbs and I've had to reset my whole path. Even my doctor endorsed the "listen to your body and enjoy life and eat food in small amounts." I struggled and almost switched to DS. The majority of the people *****ach goal with VSG do low carb. Now RNY and DS is different. They eat whatever and do melt away. However, VSG is new and somewhat more complex in diet and exercise, etc. I lost month 3-6 of my weight loss because I added back in deserts and carbs in "small amounts" only if you have food issues, then small amounts becomes subjective.

So sorry until someone gets to normal BMI or goal weight, I tend to discount their vitriol as enabling behavior. Call me a ***** call me mean, I'm not here for friends (though I do have some that I made by accident), I am here to learn. If you haven't broken 200 and you are happily eating carbs then that's your choice but I don't have to agree.

Elina has been kind to me and takes extreme joy in helping others. I base my opinion of someone on how they treat me. Elina has treated me well. One person has been unusually cruel to me here but I discount it because they claim extreme weight loss and have never posted one pic, not even an avatar. Does that make me sound paranoid? It's the interwebs, it pays to be cautious. I figure it's your story, tell it any way you like. Just don't expect me to smile and nod and tell you how awesome it is that you are making the same mistake that I did. Heck maybe you will be the exception that loses 100 pounds on 150 carbs a day...who knows? I'm too self absorbed in this to really spend much time fighting about it.  I do post less than before. I am guilty of not researching enough and asking questions that have been asked before many times.
