Message from "The VSG princess". Serious Rant.
I personally love reading what you, rob and frisco and others who have had sucess on this journey. I have learned alot and I don't post a whole bunch but I do come on almost daily to read and learn. I want to say thank you and your right if people don't like what you say then use the block button. But in my opinion they don't like it because they know your right
hope you have a better day

Okay, reply take 2 and short and sweet.... Maybe ...
To mr. gummy bear and many others who jumped on that band wagon, if someone posts about a slip up and are looking for advice, they get advice on how to plan better. If your post comes accross as bragging for having eaten a crap carb choice, ESP early out, then expect a reaction cause this is a wt loss forum. Also the original post failed to mention he ate them after being given them by a nurse for low blood sugar etc..if I remember correctly. The vets in here are serious about being helpful, and it would be nice if they were given the benefit of that doubt even if the post sounds harsh (not you Elina, don't find you harsh).
I could say that the gummy bear poster, who then changed his avatar to gummy bears is coming accross as a rebel and passive aggressive, but heck, I don't know him or his intentions..so maybe it is a well intentioned joke and I should NOT judge him. To those of ya who were posting about not judging while yourself being very judgmental in your derogatory remarks about carb police and princess etc. Maybe get a mirror!
Elina, doll, you are a vsg prince cause you got to goal in 6 months and kept it off for 3 years ! People, I go to Cirangles support group, and if you were in the same room with all these amazing vets who lost down from 600, 500, and several at 400 pounds, you would heed the doctors advice and the advice of his successful vets. It is not a cult, and there is no paid endorsements for his patients, which was once hilariously insinuated. I have been reading for 6 months, learning all I can. The block button works both ways, and if you don't like someone's tone, block them. I for one, need all the help I can get and I can handle a harsh tone in a one dimensional Internet forum. If you are
wondering why you were blocked first, maybe the vet in question grew weary of the passive aggressive tone in your posts, alternated with pleas for help, and decided to do you both a favor.
If you are someone who became obese, not becaus of the food you ate, but because of pregnancy, medications, surgerys, injuries.....well, you don't need to change your eating then to lose weight. Right? Or wrong...calculate how many calories at 3500 a pound times what pounds you have to lose, and decide if you can do it without ketosis.
I for one am a carb junkie. I am pre op, and I am terrified I cannot give up my drug of choice, and yes I see a counselor and have done my research, and have the support of a wonderful warm, caring group of vets who immediately took me under their wing. I iwould not even be on this journey without Elina.! I will go to them for help, and I will not expect them to sugar coat their truths to make them more palatable to me.
Those gummynbear style posts can look like bragging, look what i did, and i think vets fear theynsend the wring message. If small bites of any food could get me thin i would be tempted to eixist solely on cheesecake bites...hey, they have protein don't they, like in the cheese part.?
We all have choices,if you find a post somehow offensive maybe you need to read with new eyes. If you assume they are trying to help versus trying to judge, you will read it differently!
Elina, I haves tattoo in mind, and a guy to do it...want to go together?? Rock on princess. You have been an amazing support, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
To all of you, let's cut each other slack, and thank you all for inspiring me for 6 months no matter how you did your journey. You have all inspired me by your courage, your strength, your determination, and you have given me hope that maybe I can succeed too. Thank you, surgery oct 4 th. Christina

Christina, you are going to rock your sleeve. You are going to be the new poster child for this thing! Just wait. You have the collective power of a bunch of us VETS holding you up and you have been researching and reading on here for months. You are going to breeze through this.
Thank you for your kind words. Now can you just see me in biker wear? Can you imagine Alan's expression? This could get fun.

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. I DO feel so lucky to have so many vets for support. That will inspire, as I will feel like I cannot fail, not just a commitment to myself but a commitment to those who are pulling for me and there to help. I have to show up at the support meetings having lost weight!! I think pre sleeve it is so hard to imagine I will actually be able to stay away from the food. Ummm, as for the biker wear...I can imagine leather shorts with fish nets, heels, and a fantasy Alan may have never realized he had- lol. I think you can rock anything, and you'd be one sexy biker chick or bo peep! However, as an ongoing look, I think you have found it already. Classy is never out of style. Have fun!!

I'm still in the Newbie status and proud of it!!!! Elina Rocks! She has been there when I needed her most. I hope she doesn't mind me telling this but I was going through a VERY rough patch early out and she gave ME, a complete stranger, her phone number and spend over an hour talking to me on the phone. And, said I could call her anytime. I can't even begin to tell you how much that helped me!!! And, I'm sure I'm not the first stranger she has given her phone number to. I guess my point is, she doesn't have to do this; none of the vets do. I give thanks to those who are giving back and sharing their experiences. (Kairk is another special person who took time for me)
They (vets) must have done something right...they're at goal!
We need to keep it real! We can only share our journey. Blessed and thankful for my sleeve!

Elina,
As someone who counts herself among the sensitive people on this board, I can honestly say that I have never thought of you as being mean, condesending, condemning, or overbearing in any way. I can't imagine that the post you are referring to is about you... I have a few other names in mind, but yours is definitely not one of them. You have always been nothing but honest and supportive, and I've even seen you say on more than one occasion, "this is what worked for ME." Definitely the exact opposite of the kind of behavior that the OP was describing.
I like your posts because they are real and honest, and you tell it like it is without being abrasive. If someone else can't see that, it's their problem.
