I'm not being mean, just curious. I see the tit for tat and back and forth and just wonder what the motive is. I'm not necessarily directing this at you, this thread just happened to be the first one I saw this morning so my response is more about timing than anything.

I know that I can get so much other valuable information from other people. They don't matter. Obviously they judge before taking the time to really know a person. I do feel sorry for them. They didn't get a chance to know us. I guess that is what you call 'Their Loss' Eh?
Hugs,
Danielle
I do it to get a better experience out of the boards, and really wish folks would do it far more often than they do. It's much better than starting threads specifically to complain about another poster's tone/message/attitude. The grown up thing to do i**** block, and never mention it, same goes for being blocked.. just move on.

It is actually a big deal.
PoohHag, I have no idea who or why you have been blocked but it's probably better than the alternate choices.
I have not been on this particular forum board to know whether or not it was affect but I've been on OH for about four years and seen some really rancid situations involving bully, name calling and otherwise unpleasant behavior.
I don't currently have anyone blocked myself. I have been blocked by others in the past. Whether or not I am currently blocked, I don't know.
The block button is on OH in order to allow members a better experience here. If you need (or want) to eliminate someone due to unpleasantness they exhibit or for other reasons, please do avail yourself of it. But realize that that, should you exhibit unpleasant behavior or someone takes a temporary or permanent dislike to you or otherwise feels the need to make you disappear permanently or temporarily, they can also block you.
Sometimes, it is a blessing to have someone block you. Especially if you are very, very curious and can't bring yourself to block anyone, despite the venom they may spew.
It may be a forum on the internet but people do get their feelings hurt and react in adverse manners that don't allow them a second chance. For example, Phoebe Price. And, as currently and formerly obese people, I'm sure we've all been on the receiving end of meanness. In the U.S., it's not a protected category and it is generally legal to discrimate on the basis of weight.
PoohHag, I apologize for taking this thread in a direction you probably did not expect but I think it needs to be said.
