How much did you loose on Pr-Op Diet!!
I didn't have a surgeons pre-op diet and didn't lose anything on the insurance mandated six month impediment-to-approval diet (didn't really try to, either - I had lost as much as I was going to lose non-surgically in the years prior) but got 1/3 of the way to goal the first month. So, your pre-op success has little to do with how you will perform post-op.
These surgeon's pre-op diets (particularly the liquid ones) are often very difficult for people to get through (yeah - they don't have the sleeve yet!) and they have varying degrees of success with them. The main point of them for those docs *****quire them is less about weight loss and more of an attempt to clear your liver of glycogen (basically carbs) to make it easier for them to operate around it - some docs need that extra help while others don't. So don't fret if you aren't losing as much as someone else may have lost - you are doing better than many do weightloss-wise, and more importantly, you are doing what is needed to make your doc more comfortable when he is pawing around inside of you.

Be sure to take your body measurements today - NOW - before you get any further. You will thank yourself later and be able to compare those numbers when you are not losing weight. I lost inches when my weight stalled. My dr's office did them at my first visit before I started my 6 month diet and then somehow lost them. I didn't know that until after my surgery on my 3 wk visit and asked them for that information so I could do comparisons at home. Don't let that happen to you. Also, I only lost 7 lbs my first week of full liquids and 0 on my 2nd week of clear liquids. My dr said my body was in starvation mode and clinging to every gram it could. I gained in the hospital and then had to relose that afterwards. Don't let that scare you either.
VSG on 10/11/12
The pre-op diet is designed to shrink your fatty liver so that the doctor can preform your surgery without it being in the way. Sure you will lose some weght in doing so. Some ppl lose quiet a bit some dont but I dont think it was ordered to have you drop a bunch of weight before surgery. I start my pre-op diet on this coming Thursday....mentally I think im ready
