Way to live!!!
I would so love to repeat something I did when heavy, do a work-trade, off the grid trip for a month.. so many opportunities (they used to call it WOOFing, not sure if they do anymore?) It was very difficult heavy, but lighter- I'd have so much more energy to explore! It's a great way to see places, with board and sometimes some food covered- for a few hours of manual labor a day.
Congrats on the amazing trip! That is living fully!

What a wonderful post. As a fellow old traveler, I get how much fun you're having. I spent time in Peru in 1997 with a group of girlfriends. I loved staying in huts on the Amazon, an hour upriver by boat. We went to various art collectives, stayed at a solar guesthouse with Llamas in the yard. I was taken with Machu Piccu. I loved the crafts in Cusco. At that time there was a great organic Japanese cafe on the square. Wonderful salmon and steamed veggies. I wonder if it's still there?
Have a great trip!
